Somatic Coaching*
*Because it’s trendier and shorter than “Alexander Technique and Related Modalities”
The Alexander Technique is about how our thinking changes the way we move and feel.
Looking for a wholistic way to reduce pain? Improve performance? Feel more present and focused? Why not give the Alexander Technique a try.
Available in Arlington, Viriginia or on Zoom.
What it looks like
The Alexander Technique helps us cultivate awareness of our movement and habits. Once we know what we’re doing, we can make choices about what we might like to do instead.
We’ll talk about what you’re interested in—pain management, injury prevention, feeling unfocused or distracted, etc. Then we’ll explore where your body is try to help you by habitually holding still or shortening, and what freer, more comfortable choices might be available.
No exercises, no mats, no special clothes. Just you, your brain, and your body.
Change begins in the body

Frequently Asked Questions
How is coaching different from therapy?
Together we cultivate awareness of your body, your thinking, and the choices available to you today. While releasing tension patterns can trigger memory recall or other reactions to stored trauma, ours is not a space for asking probing questions or diving into memory.
In a supportive environment, I will:

Somatic coaching not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or psychological treatment, and it does not replace mental or physical health care. Although the material may support emotional regulation and awareness, it is educational and designed for professional development purposes. If you are experiencing acute distress or trauma-related symptoms, please consult a licensed mental health professional.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes! I’m a veteran and a military spouse and believe in supporting our community. I offer a 30% discount to all service members, veterans, military spouses, and first responders.
Is there a sliding scale?
I believe that pricing should reflect the value of the work (and not drive down market price for teachers relying on this for full-time income), and that this work should be available to everyone. Don’t hesitate to ask—I’ll do my best to meet you where you are.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 48 hours notice for rescheduling. Life happens. We’ll find a rhythm that works for us both.
How do I book?
Contact me here. We’ll meet for a call to make sure we’re a good fit, agree on the package that’s right for you, and find a date and time to get started.
Is online as good as in person?
Short answer: yes. This work is about your awareness, your experience, and your presence. Wherever you are is where the work can happen.
The Alexander Technique is not the usually first place we turn when we are looking for solutions. We usually get there when other things haven’t worked.
If that’s you, why not give it a try?
